Pakistan, July 21 -- The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Tuesday adjourned the hearing of petitions filed by lawyer-activists Imaan Zainab Mazari-Hazir and her husband, Hadi Ali Chattha, challenging the Islamabad High Court's decision not to suspend their prison sentences in the social media posts case.

A three-member bench headed by Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar deferred proceedings after noting that the Islamabad High Court has already fixed the matter for hearing on July 24. The bench observed that the Supreme Court could not regulate proceedings pending before the high court.
