Pakistan, Sept. 11 -- The Rabi-us-Sani 1448 Hijri crescent is likely to be sighted in Pakistan on September 12. SUPARCO has forecast that the new Islamic month could begin the following day.
According to SUPARCO, the new moon will be born at 8:27am Friday. The astronomical event will occur on September 11, according to Pakistan Standard Time. Officials used these calculations to assess the crescent's expected visibility.
By sunset on September 12, the moon will be approximately 34 hours and 33 minutes old. The gap between sunset and moonset will also provide sufficient viewing time along Pakistan's coastal belt.
