Pakistan, Aug. 5 -- A discarded SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket stage is believed to have crashed into the Moon after drifting through space for more than a year, marking one of the rare instances of human-made space debris striking the lunar surface.

The four-metric-ton rocket stage, which launched Firefly Aerospace's Blue Ghost lunar lander in January 2025, was expected to impact the Moon at around 2:35 a.m. ET (11:35 a.m. PKT) on Wednesday at a speed of approximately 5,400 miles per hour.
