Pakistan, Sept. 12 -- South Korea has not decided whether to deploy military assets to the Strait of Hormuz. Foreign Minister Cho Hyun conveyed the position during a phone call with Iran's Abbas Araghchi on Friday. The issue comes as Washington presses Seoul to support military operations against Tehran. The strategic waterway remains central to concerns over safe maritime movement in the region.
Cho told Araghchi that Seoul had yet to decide on any possible deployment. He also stressed the need to restore safe navigation through the Strait of Hormuz quickly. The South Korean foreign ministry said both ministers discussed vessel movements through the waterway. They also shared their positions on the wider Middle East situation.
