Pakistan, Sept. 26 -- Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has offered talks to the federal government. He said dialogue could help resolve the ongoing political dispute. Afridi made the offer while speaking to senior journalists in Peshawar.

Afridi questioned why talks should follow the long march instead of happening beforehand. He said the federal government could resolve the matter within seven days. He also called for understanding between the two sides during negotiations.

The chief minister said his side had already called for talks before announcing the long march. He stressed that resolving the issue remained the main objective. His remarks came as preparations continue for the planned protest.
