Pakistan, Oct. 7 -- A bipartisan US bill is set to change three key terms used to describe Social Security retirement benefit claiming ages. The legislation now awaits President Donald Trump's signature.

The Claiming Age Clarity Act was introduced by Republican Representative Lloyd Smucker and Democratic Representative Don Beyer. Congress has passed the measure with bipartisan support.
Under the legislation, "Early Eligibility Age" will become "Minimum Benefit Age." This refers to age 62, the earliest age workers can claim retirement benefits. Claiming before full retirement age permanently reduces monthly payments.
