Pakistan, Oct. 7 -- The Sindh cabinet has approved a province-wide waiver of the death certificate registration fee. The decision, announced on Monday, will allow citizens to obtain death certificates free of cost at municipal, union council, and town committee levels. Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah presided over the meeting at the CM House in Karachi.

According to an official statement, the Sindh government will now bear the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) service charges. The move aims to ease citizens' financial burden and promote digital registration under the Sindh Local Government Act, 2013. It also strengthens the province's Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) system.
