Pakistan, Oct. 11 -- A special committee of the Sindh Assembly formed to address unannounced power outages and faults in the electricity distribution system has yet to ensure the implementation of its directives against K-Electric, while consumers continue to face scheduled and unscheduled load-shedding across Karachi.

The committee had issued written directives to K-Electric's Chief Distribution Officer (CDO), warning that the utility had failed to provide satisfactory responses to its queries. The officer was cautioned that proceedings for breach of privilege could lead to imprisonment for up to six months and a fine.
