Pakistan, June 29 -- Pakistan Telecommunication Authority has launched a public awareness campaign regarding mobile SIMs registered on invalid, cancelled or expired identity cards and directed users to update their documents in a timely manner. According to PTA, mobile numbers that are linked to inactive, cancelled or expired computerised national identity cards of the National Database and Registration Authority could be suspended or blocked under regulatory rules. The authority has advised mobile users to renew their national identity cards before their expiry date so that there was no disruption in mobile service.
