Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has called for renewed diplomacy to address conflicts in the Middle East. Addressing the 81st United Nations General Assembly, he said Pakistan chose dialogue over confrontation. He also urged nations to pursue peace instead of war.

Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned attacks against Saudi Arabia and expressed solidarity with the Saudi people. He said the safety and sanctity of Haramain Sharifain was a red line for Pakistan. He also called the Strait of Hormuz and Bab el-Mandeb vital routes for global trade.
