Pakistan, Sept. 4 -- Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has stressed the need for early groundbreaking of the ML-1 railway project. He said the corridor remains vital for modern freight transport and regional trade. The prime minister discussed the project with Asian Development Bank Vice President Yingming Yang in Islamabad.

The discussion took place during a breakfast meeting hosted by Shehbaz on Friday. The meeting reviewed Pakistan's development partnership with the ADB. Officials also discussed priority areas under the Country Partnership Strategy for 2026-2030.
