Pakistan, Oct. 13 -- Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in Sharm El Sheikh on the sidelines of the regional peace summit. The two leaders held a warm and informal discussion ahead of the formal signing of the Gaza ceasefire agreement. King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain also joined parts of the meeting, adding diplomatic weight to the dialogue.

President Abbas thanked Pakistan for its consistent political and diplomatic support to the Palestinian people. He expressed deep appreciation for Pakistan's principled stance at international forums and its solidarity during difficult times. Both leaders reaffirmed the strong historical and brotherly ties between Pakistan and Palestine.
