Pakistan, Feb. 24 -- The Senate on Monday passed four private member bills including the Zakat and Ushr (Amendment) Bill, 2025, the Islamabad Capital Territory Prohibition of Corporal Punishment (Amendment) Bill, 2022, the National Security Council (Amendment) Bill, 2023 and the Code of Criminal Procedure (Amendment) Bill, 2024, unanimously.
The bills were moved by Zamir Hussain Ghumro, Saadia Abbasi and Shahadat Awan in the House. The house passed the bills through clause by clause reading.
Meanwhile, Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani referred two bills including the Al-Biruni International University Bill, 2025 and the Corporate Social Responsibility Bill, 2026 to the concerned standing committees for detailed discussion.
