Pakistan, Sept. 22 -- Security forces foiled an attempt by militants to cross into Kurram district from Afghanistan, security sources said on Tuesday. The sources said the attempted infiltration originated from Nangarhar and Paktia provinces.

According to the sources, the militants were members of Fitna-al-Khawarij, a term used by Pakistani authorities for the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan. Security forces monitored the border and stopped the group from entering Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
