Pakistan, Sept. 14 -- The Punjab Home Department has imposed Section 144 across the province for five days, banning gatherings of five or more people at public places, roads and open spaces from September 13 to 17 amid reports of potential terrorist threats.

According to a notification issued by the Home Department, the ban also prohibits carrying or displaying all types of weapons at public places and inciting or encouraging people to participate in unlawful gatherings.

The Home Department spokesperson said that the restrictions would not apply to wedding ceremonies, funeral prayers, burials, mosques and other places of worship. Courts, government institutions and events being held with formal permission would also remain exempt from t...
