Pakistan, May 21 -- The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Wednesday issued notices to the accused in a case involving the alleged honour killing of a young woman in Rawalpindi for contracting a marriage of her choice, and adjourned the hearing until the first week of June.

A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Yahya Afridi heard the case. The bench also included Justice Muhammad Shafi Siddiqui and Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb.

During the hearing, Additional Advocate General Punjab Ahmad Raza Gilani informed the court that the woman, who had entered into a love marriage, was allegedly called back from Kashmir and killed following a decision by a jirga.
