Pakistan, Aug. 14 -- State Bank of Pakistan Governor Jamil Ahmed said the country's economy was moving in the right direction, pointing to rising remittances and foreign exchange reserves.

Speaking at an Independence Day ceremony in Karachi, Ahmed said Pakistan recorded 3.6% economic growth during fiscal year 2026 despite continuing challenges in the global economy.

He stressed that higher domestic production, stronger exports and more employment opportunities were essential to making economic stability sustainable and supporting long-term development.
