Pakistan, Sept. 8 -- Saudi Arabia has warned drivers against operating vehicles with licences that do not match their size or intended use. Authorities said violators could face fines of up to SR2,000.

The General Directorate of Traffic said mismatched vehicle licences are considered serious traffic violations. The violation can involve an incorrect licence category for the vehicle being driven. It can also involve differences between vehicle registration details and number plates. Authorities warned that offenders could face fines ranging from SR1,000 to SR2,000. In some cases, vehicles may also be seized or further legal action may follow.
