Pakistan, Aug. 17 -- A girl was allegedly killed by drowning in a canal in Sargodha, police said. The incident occurred in Chak 65 South. Police said the suspects later buried the victim secretly in a local cemetery.

According to police, the girl was allegedly taken to the canal and repeatedly submerged in the water. She reportedly died during the incident. The suspects then allegedly arranged her burial without informing authorities or the wider community.

Police have registered a case following the incident. Investigators have also arrested the victim's fiance in connection with the alleged murder. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death.
