Pakistan, Oct. 7 -- Pakistan's salaried class paid Rs144 billion in income tax during the first three months of the current fiscal year. According to Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) sources, the amount was Rs13.4 billion higher than the same period last year.

The figures show that income tax payments by salaried individuals increased by 10.2 percent. In comparison, wholesalers and retailers collectively paid Rs18.4 billion in income tax during the three-month period.
