Pakistan, Aug. 8 -- Russian strikes killed three people, including a child, in the Kyiv region on Saturday. Three others were injured in the attacks, according to Ukrainian officials.

Kyiv regional administration head Tymur Tkachenko said strikes hit three locations in Boryspil district. The district lies near Ukraine's capital.

Meanwhile, fires were reported in two districts within Kyiv itself. Mayor Vitali Klitschko said the fires followed an air raid alert.

Reuters witnesses reported hearing several powerful explosions that shook central Kyiv. Authorities did not immediately provide further details about damage caused by the strikes.
