KYIV, June 2 -- Russian drones and missiles struck several Ukrainian cities in a large-scale overnight assault on Tuesday, killing at least 10 people and injuring around 100 others, according to Ukrainian officials.

The attacks targeted major urban centres, including Kyiv and Dnipro, following warnings from Ukrainian authorities that Russia could launch a significant new wave of strikes. Air raid sirens sounded across much of the country as residents sought shelter from the bombardment.
