Pakistan, July 2 -- A Russian couple climbed the antenna spire of New York City's Empire State Building on Wednesday, displaying a peace banner before turning the dangerous stunt into a marriage proposal. Suspended nearly 1,454 feet above the streets, the pair documented their climb on social media before police safely took them into custody.

During the climb, the couple unfurled a large black banner carrying the message, "When the power of love beats the love of power the world knows peace."
