Pakistan, July 2 -- Russia has abruptly suspended railway operations at seven border crossings with Finland, Estonia, and Latvia from Wednesday, disrupting cross-border movement. The decision was announced through a government decree issued on 30 June without prior warning. The move affects passenger, cargo, and freight rail traffic across key entry points into Europe.

According to the decree, the Foreign Ministry has been instructed to notify Finland, Latvia, and Estonia of the suspension. It states that movement of people, vehicles, goods, and cargo through selected railway checkpoints is temporarily halted. The order took effect on 1 July and applies to multiple border sections.
