Pakistan, Sept. 1 -- Russia launched overnight strikes against military and energy facilities in Ukraine, including areas around Kyiv and Odesa. Russia's Defence Ministry said the attacks targeted sites in and near both cities. The ministry announced the strikes on Tuesday through Telegram.

According to the Russian Defence Ministry, the strikes hit military facilities in Kyiv. Energy facilities were also targeted during the overnight operation. The ministry said areas surrounding Kyiv and Odesa also came under attack.

The reported strikes focused on two major Ukrainian regions. Kyiv, Ukraine's capital, was among the areas identified by Russian officials. Odesa and surrounding areas were also included in the reported targets.
