Pakistan, July 2 -- Russia launched one of its largest air attacks on Kyiv this year, killing at least 18 people and injuring more than 90 others. The assault matters because it intensifies the war as Ukraine faces shortages of critical air defence missiles. Civilians across Kyiv suffered widespread destruction during the overnight bombardment.
Ukraine's Air Force said Russia fired 74 missiles and 496 drones during the attack. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said more than 20 locations across the capital sustained damage. He urged international partners to strengthen Ukraine's air defences, particularly by supplying additional Patriot missile systems.
