Pakistan, April 17 -- Russia has accused Ukraine of violating a temporary ceasefire and raised concerns over the detention of a Russian child in Mexico. The allegations were made by Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova. The development is significant as it adds further strain to already tense Russia-Ukraine relations.

Zakharova claimed Ukrainian forces breached the Easter ceasefire more than 6,000 times. She said the truce was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin and was intended to reduce hostilities. Moreover, she argued that Ukraine failed to show commitment to peace.
