Pakistan, June 6 -- The Pakistani rupee appreciated against the US dollar in the inter-bank market on Friday. At close, the local currency settled at 278.41, a gain of Re0.01 against the greenback. On Thursday, the local unit closed at 278.42. Globally, the US dollar is on track for a weekly gain as Gulf tensions fuel safe-haven flows.
