Pakistan, July 5 -- The federal government has increased the levy on petrol by Rs6.22 per liter with effect from July 2, 2026, depriving the public of full petrol price relief. Sources said that the total levy on petroleum has now reached Rs70.36 per liter after an increase of Rs6.22 per liter. Sources further revealed that the levy was decreased by Rs6.22 per liter in high-speed diesel (HSD). The levy on diesel was decreased from Rs77.4 paisa to Rs70.82 per liter. The implementation of the new petroleum levy will start from July 4, 2026.
