Pakistan, Sept. 24 -- The federal government has deployed Punjab Rangers in Islamabad and several districts of Punjab amid heightened security concerns. The deployment follows requests from the Islamabad chief commissioner and Punjab Home Department.

According to an official notification, Rangers will perform duties assigned by the Islamabad administration and Punjab government. Their deployment will remain in place from September 20 to October 5, 2026. Rangers and police have been directed to take necessary defensive action against violent or armed groups.
