Pakistan, Aug. 16 -- A statue of Pakistan's founder, Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, has been permanently installed at the Pakistani Embassy in Washington during Independence Day celebrations.

Pakistan's Ambassador to the United States Rizwan Saeed Sheikh unveiled the statue at a ceremony attended by Pakistani-American community members, diplomats and media representatives.

The Quaid-i-Azam Foundation in Houston gifted the statue to the embassy, where it will remain permanently as a tribute to Jinnah's struggle and leadership in creating Pakistan.

The ceremony included the hoisting of the Pakistani flag, national anthem and Quranic recitation, followed by messages from Pakistan's president, prime minister and deputy prime minister. ...
