Authorities have issued a high flood alert in nine districts of Punjab after India released large amounts of water into the Sutlej River, raising concerns over severe flooding in the region. The districts under alert include Kasur, Okara, Bahawalnagar, Pakpattan, Vehari, Lodhran, Bahawalpur, Multan, and Muzaffargarh.

Severe floods triggered by rising water in the Sutlej, Ravi, and Chenab rivers have already affected over two million people and claimed at least 41 lives across Punjab. Officials warn that the situation may worsen as river flows remain dangerously high and emergency measures continue.
