Pakistan, Aug. 17 -- Preparations for local government elections in Punjab have entered their final phase, with the Election Commission of Pakistan moving closer to fixing the polling date for the province.

The ECP has summoned the Punjab government for an important meeting scheduled for August 20, where officials are expected to discuss and finalise the election date.
