Pakistan, Aug. 18 -- Preparations for holding local government elections in Punjab have entered the final phase, with the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) summoning the provincial government to finalise the polling date.

According to sources, an important decision regarding the date for local government elections in Punjab will be taken during a meeting scheduled for August 20.

All necessary arrangements for the local government elections, including delimitation of constituencies, have been completed. Following the finalization of the polling date, the formal schedule for the electoral process is also expected to be announced.
