Pakistan, July 24 -- Punjab has, for the first time, launched drone monitoring for early flood warning, with drone surveillance of all barrages, rivers and headworks initiated on the directions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
Safe City drones are being used to monitor water levels at rivers, headworks and barrages to facilitate early detection of incoming flood waves. Water levels at Trimmu Barrage in Jhang were reported to be normal during aerial surveillance.
Drone monitoring was also carried out at the Ravi and Sutlej rivers in Pakpattan to assess water levels, the inflow of floodwater and the overall flood situation. Officials also inspected riverbank erosion, while water flow remained normal. At Talibwala Bridge on the Chena...
