Pakistan, June 4 -- Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has hailed the Kisan Card programme as a transformative initiative for the province's agricultural sector, saying it is helping farmers achieve greater financial independence and reducing their reliance on middlemen.

According to official figures, more than 832,000 farmers across Punjab have received Kisan Cards under the government's agricultural support programme.
