Pakistan, July 27 -- Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari has said the provincial government achieved better monsoon management this year, ensuring faster rainwater drainage despite receiving significantly heavier rainfall than last year. Speaking at a press conference in Lahore, she said authorities strengthened drainage infrastructure, expanded flood preparedness, and maintained continuous monitoring to reduce the impact of heavy rains. She credited coordinated efforts by government departments for improving the overall response during the monsoon season.
Bukhari said work is underway on 189 kilometres of new water drains across the province, while 27 disposal stations are being constructed and the capacity of 59 existing stations ...
