Pakistan, July 25 -- The authorities have evacuated more than 4,300 people from flood-prone areas along the River Chenab as district officials intensified relief and rescue operations following rising water levels, the district administration sources said on Friday.
The operation is being carried out under directives from Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, with the Chiniot district administration working under the supervision of the Faisalabad divisional administration and in coordination with emergency and other government departments.
