Pakistan, April 24 -- Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Thursday expressed deep sorrow and grief over the killing of three innocent children in Ichhra and sought an immediate report on the incident.

She directed the authorities concerned to ensure the early arrest of the suspect involved in the heinous crime. The chief minister also conveyed her heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for their patience and fortitude.

Terming the incident as extremely tragic and distressing, the CM Punjab said those responsible for the brutal killing of the children would not escape legal action and would be awarded exemplary punishment.
