Pakistan, May 25 -- The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has enhanced the SIM disowning period from 60 days to 365 days as part of its continued efforts to strengthen safeguards against illegal SIM issuance and unauthorized registrations. Citizens are strongly advised to exercise utmost caution while providing biometric verification for the issuance of SIMs, as any newly activated SIM can now only be disowned after one year of activation.
