Pakistan, June 30 -- The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority recorded a sharp decline in income over the past three years, largely because the long-delayed 5G spectrum auction has not taken place. According to the latest report by the Auditor General of Pakistan, PTA's income dropped by more than 62%, falling from Rs94.1 billion in FY2022-23 to Rs35.3 billion in FY2024-25.

During the same period, the regulator's expenditure increased from Rs3.321 billion to Rs5 billion due to rising employee costs, administrative spending, and legal expenses.
