Pakistan, Aug. 5 -- The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) gained more than 2,500 points on Wednesday as broad-based buying strengthened investor confidence. Positive global market sentiment and financing developments supported the rally.

The benchmark KSE-100 Index rose 2,581.05 points, or 1.46 percent, to 179,664.27 by midday. The index had closed at 177,083.22 in the previous session.

Trading activity remained strong, with benchmark volumes reaching 185.76 million shares. Meanwhile, the total traded value stood at Rs16.10 billion during the session.
