Pakistan, Sept. 8 -- The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) suffered a sharp decline on Tuesday amid rising Middle East tensions. The sell-off reflected growing pressure on investor sentiment as regional uncertainty continued to increase. The benchmark KSE-100 index lost nearly 1,000 points by market close.

During intraday trading, the KSE-100 index dropped 1,904.31 points, or 1.10 per cent. The index stood at 171,731.76 points around 1:39pm. Its previous close was recorded at 173,636.07 points.

The market reached its lowest level of 171,490.63 points around 1:30pm. It later recovered some losses during midday trading before ending at 172,642.16 points. Despite the recovery, the index remained 993.91 points, or 0.57pc, below its previous clo...
