Pakistan, Oct. 4 -- The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) remained under pressure throughout the past trading week, as geopolitical and political tensions overshadowed investor sentiment. Renewed clashes between Saudi forces and Houthi rebels and fading hopes of diplomatic de-escalation in the Middle East kept investors on edge.
The benchmark KSE-100 Index closed the week in negative territory, losing 2,610 points or 1.5 percent on a week-on-week basis. The index settled at 168,155 points at the close of the week. During the week, the market witnessed high volatility. The KSE-100 touched a weekly high of 171,492 points, but persistent selling pressure dragged it to a weekly low of 167,685 points.
