Pakistan, Aug. 3 -- The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has emerged victorious in the LA-40 Kashmir Valley-I constituency, according to unofficial and preliminary results from the second phase of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Legislative Assembly elections.

Based on the unofficial count from all 47 polling stations, PPP candidate Aamir Abdul Ghaffar secured 2,914 votes, earning the lead in the constituency.

The Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) candidate, Muhammad Saleem Butt, finished second with 136 votes, according to the preliminary tally.
