Pakistan, Jan. 19 -- Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) announced a gas discovery at its Bilitang-1 exploratory well in Kohat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The well reached the target depth of 4,011 meters True Vertical Depth (TVD). The discovery comes from the Lockhart formation and marks a key achievement for the TAL Joint Venture.

The TAL Joint Venture includes MOL Pakistan Oil & Gas Co. B.V. as operator with 10% working interest (WI), OGDCL 30% WI, PPL 30% WI, POL 25% WI, and GHPL 5% WI. The well was spudded in on August 10, 2025, and drilling successfully reached the planned target depth without complications.
