Pakistan, May 22 -- Federal Minister for Climate Change Musadik Malik has said that the poorest communities are bearing the heaviest burden of the global climate crisis. He made the remarks while addressing the 13th World Urban Forum in Baku. He said these groups contribute the least to global carbon emissions but suffer the most from climate impacts.

He highlighted the strong link between poverty and climate change, saying it can take generations for families to escape poverty. However, he warned that a single natural disaster can push them back into deprivation. He urged the international community to address climate justice more seriously.
