Pakistan, Aug. 16 -- The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz meeting in Murree ended without finalising the next prime minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, with several candidates still under consideration.

PML-N AJK President Shah Ghulam Qadir has emerged as the leading contender, while Tariq Farooq and retired Colonel Waqar Noor also remain in the race for the top position.

Party leaders first focused on selecting candidates for women's reserved seats, with Sehrish Qamar, Maryam Kashmiri, Nasira Khan and Nasara Abbasi among the names under consideration.

PML-N President Nawaz Sharif is expected to make the final decision on the women's reserved seats, while the party has yet to settle the seat reserved for overseas Kashmiris.
