Pakistan, June 28 -- Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that uninterrupted and free movement along key maritime trade routes is essential for the global economy. He stressed that recent regional tensions have highlighted the critical importance of maritime security for international trade and stability. The remarks came during a ceremony at the Pakistan Naval Academy in Karachi.

Shehbaz Sharif said that freedom of navigation in strategic sea lanes is no longer a luxury but a necessity for global economic stability. He noted that disruptions in maritime routes can directly impact global supply chains, energy flows and trade connectivity.
