PM Shehbaz blocks Pakistan Railways fare hike
Pakistan, April 3 -- Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has stopped Pakistan Railways from raising fares for both passenger and freight trains. Officials confirmed that economy and AC class fares on passenger trains, as well as freight charges, will remain unchanged.
The decision comes as the government will absorb the additional financial burden of 6 billion rupees until June 30. Railway authorities said the move ensures travel remains affordable for the public during difficult times.
